Spanish electric car manufacturer Cupra has unveiled the UrbanRebel electric hatchback concept. The car looks stylish and modern. The design is made in the style of the 2021 racing concept. The car should become a competitor for the Volkswagen ID.2. Doors without handles, as well as frameless doors, make us understand that the car is made in a modern style. The interior is made from recycled polymers and bio-based materials.
UrbanRebel is based on the MEB Small platform. Production is planned to be established in the Spanish city of Martorell. For this purpose, an investment project worth 10 billion euros was drawn up, which, among other things, includes the construction of a gigafactory for the production of batteries in Spain worth 3 billion euros.
The car will only be available with front-wheel drive. The power plant consists of a single electric motor with a capacity of 226 horsepower. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 6.9 seconds. The battery capacity is not disclosed, but it is likely that it was also taken from the Volkswagen concept. Its capacity is 62 kWh, and the power reserve reaches 440 kilometers.
