Drako Motors announces a new addition to its line-up, a powerful super SUV. The company has released teaser images of its latest model, highlighting the unique aspects of the design before full disclosure. The company is providing a few details about the powertrain, which will be 2,000 horsepower (1,491 kilowatts).
Drako Dragon is based on the Drako DriveOS automotive architecture, which gives it a lot of control over the performance of the architecture. The new SUV will be powered by Drako DriveOS Quad Motor Powertrain. The quad-engine setup delivers 2000hp allowing the SUV to hit 100km/h in 1.9 seconds. This is at the level of Tesla Model S Plaid.
The all-electric powertrain is expected to accelerate the car to a top speed of 321 km/h and cover the quarter mile in 9.0 seconds. These are impressive numbers for an SUV, but not uncommon for electric vehicles. The company will also equip the SUV with a three-stage suspension.
The images are teasers, so the shadows obscure much of the SUV's styling, but we can see front and rear lighting elements, hood design, part of the front bumper, and rear buttresses. One of its most notable features are the gullwing doors. The car body is more likely to be made from carbon fiber.
