The new design study could be a more production-ready continuation of the 2020 Buick Electra concept.
The Electra-X is expected to debut at the upcoming Buick Brand Day in China in early June. Electra-X is said to offer "a sneak peek of future Ultium-based electric vehicles for Buick in China". The automaker also says the study reflects Buick's accelerated transition to electrification and intelligent driving in its largest market.
Looking at the photos, we can see sleek horizontal LED headlights, an aggressive front end with a grilled panel under the pointed nose, thin side cameras in place of rear-view mirrors, and A-pillars with stripes at the bottom.
Buick China says that in addition to the Ultium platform, the Electra-X concept features cutting-edge innovations such as Super Cruise driver assistance technology and the Virtual Cockpit system.
