Bentley wants to offer only electric vehicles from 2030. By 2025, a new all-electric car will enter the market every year. The first battery model from the Volkswagen subsidiary is said to offer tremendous power and acceleration. The brand's first all-electric car will develop up to 1,400 hp (1030 kW) and will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in about 1.5 seconds. Acceleration should not be the main advantage of the car, the main feature of the new electric car should be the ease of overtaking due to the huge torque.
Production of the first electric Bentley is scheduled to start in 2025 at the automaker's plant in Crewe, UK. It is known to complement Bentley's current lineup of sedans, coupes, convertibles and SUVs. The new electric car is said to be either a long sedan or an SUV.
The car will be built on a platform created for electric cars by Audi and Porsche.
