Premium brand Genesis has unveiled a new concept vehicle that provides insight into the brand's next generation of electric vehicles and highlights the future of Genesis as a luxury electric vehicle brand.
The X Speedium Coupé is the result of an experiment in 'free style' design, the new concept model interprets the 'Athletic Elegance' design philosophy even more progressively. The name comes from the Korean racing track Inje Speedium. “At the same time, it expresses the manufacturer’s confidence in maintaining the emotional aspect of driving even in the era of electrification,” the company said in a statement. In addition to the coupe, the aesthetic design emphasizes driving pleasure.
"This vehicle is an important stepping stone for Genesis in the development of future electric vehicles, the X Speedium Coupe is not a show car, it is a look at our design processes that we use to develop ideas for the next generation of electric vehicles that carry Genesis DNA," said the chief designer Luke Donkerwolke.
The South Korean automaker wants to produce six electric vehicles in its lineup by 2030. The lineup will consist of two passenger electric vehicles and two SUVs. As early as 2025, all new Genesis models will be electric.
