The electric car is still a one-off that cannot be sold. According to the brand, the unique model shows how the open Mini can be electrified in the future.

The world premiere of the open electric car took place at the Mini Takes the States event. The convertible is based on the bodywork of the current Mini Cooper S Cabrio. Electrified Mini Cabrio has dimensions: length - 3863 mm, wheelbase - 2495 mm, width - 1727 mm, height - 2495 mm. The volume of cargo in the trunk also remained the same - 160 liters.

The 135kW electric drive comes from a conventional Mini Cooper SE. The convertible accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. The battery has a capacity of 29 kWh (usable capacity) from a closed model. According to Mini, the WLTP range is 230 kilometers. This makes it practically the same as the closed Cooper SE, which is from 203 to 233 km depending on the version.

The power soft top can be opened and closed in 18 seconds. Activation works up to a speed of 30 km/h. There are three positions: open, closed and sunroof.

Mini Cooper SE Cabrio will be the first ever electric convertible. The timing of mass production is still unknown.
