The Indian corporation Mahindra showed the XUV400 electric SUV, which will compete with the local market leader, the Tata Nexon EV electric crossover.

The electric car is made in a standard style for the brand. According to the company, the appearance was created with an eye on the eXUV300 concept, which was shown a year ago.

Technically, the XUV400 and XUV300 are similar. The platform was taken from the Korean crossover SsangYong Tivoli. Korean specialists helped in the development of the electric car, but the power plant is completely new. The electric car received one electric motor on the front axle, which develops 150 hp and 310 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h will be 8.3 seconds. The maximum speed is 150 km/h.

The battery has a capacity of 39.4 kWh, but the range according to the Indian method is as much as 456 kilometers. The battery can be charged from a 7.2 kW AC charger, or from a 50 kW DC charger. Prices for the Mahindra XUV400 have not yet been disclosed, but the novelty will go on sale in January 2023. The export of these crossovers has not yet been reported.

Recall that all future electric vehicles of the brand will be built on the Mahindra INGLO architecture, which borrowed some units and solutions from Volkswagen MEB. Five models have already been announced, the first of which will appear no earlier than 2024.
