At the IAA 2022 Hannover Transport Fair in Germany, the new Renault Trafic E-Tech, an all-electric version of the French firm's medium van, was unveiled.
The electric motor has the same horsepower as the latest Kangoo E-Tech, with 118 hp on offer. A 52 kWh battery is installed, which gives the Trafic E-Tech a range of 240 km on the WLTP cycle. Up to 22kW charging is available as standard, with a 50kW DC charger available as an option.
The Trafic E-Tech is based on the existing Trafic diesel van, and with electric running under the hood and cargo floor, the dimensions and cargo volumes are the same as the standard van and two body lengths will be offered. This means a floor length of up to 4.15 m in the L2 version with a through bulkhead and cargo volumes of 5.8 to 8.9 m3. A lifting capacity of up to 1.1 tons will be offered, as well as a pulling force of up to 750 kg.
The arrival of Trafic E-Tech means that Renault now has electric vans in all three categories: Kangoo E-Tech in the small sector, Master E-Tech in the large van segment, and the Renault Zoe Van offering a more compact urban distribution vehicle.
Pricing for the new Renault Trafic E-Tech will be announced closer to launch in early 2023.
