Tesla brand electric cars have ceased to be the most popular in the world - they were outstripped by the Chinese manufacturer BYD. This conclusion can be drawn from the results of global sales of electric vehicles in the first 6 months 2022.

In the first 6 months of 2022, BYD sold more than 641,000 electric vehicles. And this result was 4.2 times higher than in the same period last year. In turn, sales of Tesla worldwide amounted to more than 564 000. Thus, BYD became the world leader in sales of electric vehicles, overtaking Tesla by almost 80,000 units in the first half of the year.

In March, the company sold about 105,000 electric vehicles, which is the company's highest result ever. In the spring of 2022, the company completely stopped the production of cars with internal combustion engines, relying only on hybrid cars and electric cars.
