Battery maker CATL and Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer Yutong have extended their cooperation since 2012 for another ten years.

To date, CATL has supplied batteries with a total capacity of 19 GWh to Yutong, which are used in nearly 150,000 of the manufacturer's electric buses, averaging 126 kWh per vehicle.

As part of the expansion of cooperation, both companies also want to work together on trucks, construction equipment and other commercial vehicles in the future, jointly develop new materials and technologies, and develop technical standards for commercial vehicle batteries.

CATL and Yutong target not only China's domestic market, but also overseas markets "to jointly increase their presence in the international market with their vehicles and batteries". However, specific countries are not named. To date, Yutong buses equipped with CATL batteries have been sold in more than 40 countries and regions, including France, the United Kingdom and Spain. But Yutong also relies on CATL batteries to order a large electric bus from Qatar.
