The New Jersey-based Cenntro Electric group of companies is gearing up to launch its Logistar 100 and Logistar 260 commercial vehicle models in Europe. The first is a compact light electric van, the second is a larger model with a length of 5.5 meters.
Cenntro claims to have sold or put more than 3,700 vehicles into service in more than 25 countries as of December 31, 2021. With the launch of two new models in Europe, this number will now be significantly increased.
The Logistar 100 is described as a compact light van with a WLTP range of up to 120 km, a payload of 525 kg and a cargo volume of two cubic meters. After receiving EU type approval in August, the Logistar 100 is scheduled to be delivered to Europe this month and then available in Asia and South America. Americans describe the model as an ideal urban transporter, including for parcel delivery companies, dealers, repair companies or catering establishments. The price is not specified in the announcement of the company.
Cenntro plans to release the larger Logistar 260 in the first quarter of 2023. According to the manufacturer, the EU type approval is scheduled for the end of 2022. The electric vehicle is 5.50 meters long, 1.85 meters wide, 2 meters high and has a loading volume of 7.5 cubic meters. Cenntro has yet to reveal details about the drive system. The only other detail is that the Logistar 260 will have two side cargo doors that open upwards, as well as rear doors that can open 270 degrees. Traders, couriers, express delivery and parcel delivery services, as well as logistics companies are named as the target group.
