Electrify America and Electrify Canada, Volkswagen's charging infrastructure subsidiaries in North America, are introducing a new labeling system for their fast charging stations: 150kW CCS fast chargers will be labeled "Ultra-Fast" and CCS fast in the future, 350 kW chargers will be labeled "Hyper-Fast".

In addition, there is a visualization with eye-catching colors and symbols for easy recognition: "Super Fast" (350kW) has a green dot and three lightning bolts, and "Super Fast" (150kW) has a blue-green dot and two lightning bolts. CHAdeMO 50 kW speakers get a blue sticker with a single lightning bolt. With the new markings, charging infrastructure companies want to make it easier for customers to navigate.

Electrify America and Electrify Canada are making the names "Ultra-Fast" and "Hyper-Fast" available for use by all charging infrastructure providers. The goal is to set a "universal standard", as the statement says.

The new labeling system will be rolled out to all existing and new Electrify America and Electrify Canada charging stations starting this fall.

We want to simplify the transition to electric vehicle charging by translating kilowatt power into simpler terms like ultra-fast and ultra-fast with matching colors to make it easier for customers to choose a charger

In the future, there will also be a new technology “Balanced Power” for 350 kW chargers in some VW subsidiaries: if the power supply for two charging stations comes from the control cabinet, both can charge two electric vehicles at the same time. simultaneously, each with 150 kW or one with a full 350 kW when the adjacent column is not in use.
