Although the electric version was created on the basis of the standard F-150, it has many serious design differences, here a different frame is stronger to withstand the mass of the traction battery located between the spars. And the rear suspension of the Lightning version is independent, while the petrol versions have a continuous axle.

There are differences in the cabin as well. Virtual instruments have recently appeared in the base model, and for the electric version, in addition, you can order the Sync 4A media system with a large vertical tablet with a diagonal of 15.5 inches, which has replaced almost all hardware buttons from the front panel. Multimedia has voice control and over-the-air update function.

The electric Ford F-150 Lightning is only offered with a four-door SuperCrew cab and a 1.68 meter long cargo hold. There are two modifications to choose from, both with two electric motors and all-wheel drive (one motor on each axle). The Standard Range version has engines with a total output of 432 hp. and 1051 Nm. The range on a single charge is 370 km, and the load capacity is 907 kg. The battery capacity is not named, but we are talking about 90 kWh.

The Extended Range variant can go about 300 miles, and its motors produce 571 hp, although the torque is the same. The load capacity of such a pickup truck is reduced to 816 kg, but it can pull a trailer weighing up to 4.5 tons, and acceleration to 60 mph will be about 4.5 seconds.
