Nissan Sakura: the cheapest electric car of the brand is presented

In October 2019, Nissan announced its desire to launch an electric kei car in Japan and introduced the IMk concept. Now he has finally found a serial incarnation, having received the name Sakura

The cabin of the Nissan Sakura can accommodate four people, there is little space in the trunk: the available volume is only 107 liters. But this is a very light car, which weighs only 1070 kg in the basic configuration, and 10 kg more in the top one.

Nissan Sakura has a 63 hp electric motor. and a torque of 195 Nm. The maximum speed of the car is 130 km/h. At the same time, the novelty, in addition to the standard and eco-modes of movement, has a sports mode. Speed ​​for an urban keikar is not the main indicator. Much more important for the buyer is how much he can drive on a single charge. The capacity of the lithium-ion battery is 20 kWh, which should be enough for about 180 km (WLTP cycle). Full charge cycle time is 8 hours, fast charging (up to 80%) lasts 40 minutes. The Nissan Sakura battery can be used as an energy source for household needs (up to 12 kW).

The Nissan Sakura will go on sale this summer in S, X and G trim levels starting at 1,783,100 yen ($13,945). The basic equipment includes: fabric interior, automatic air conditioning, adaptive LED optics, collision warning and lane departure warning systems, airbags, including a central airbag and a curtain airbag. In more expensive versions, Nissan Connect multimedia is installed with a 9-inch display and six speakers, security features have been expanded due to active assistants and a surround-view camera system, richer decor.
