As the name BST Edition 270 suggests, only 270 will be made. Polestar has confirmed that the car will be sold in North American and European markets, but has yet to name a price. However, production of the new high-performance Polestar 2 variant will begin in mid-2022, with deliveries starting towards the end of the year.
The Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 comes standard with a new performance upgrade available for wireless download on dual engine versions of the standard Polestar 2. This unlocks an additional 67 hp. car engines, bringing the power to 469 hp. with an increase in maximum torque to 680 Nm. The battery capacity remains at 78 kWh.
Chassis changes are carried over almost entirely from the experimental concept. The ride height has been lowered by 25mm and the car has 20% stiffer springs. New double-sided, manually adjustable Öhlins shock absorbers are standard, allowing the rider to manually adjust the damper settings using under-hood adjustments. Next to them is an A-pillar brace taken from Volvo.
Also standard on the BST Edition 270 are 21-inch wheels taken from the Polestar 1 coupe, with Pirelli P-Zero tires designed specifically for the hot new version 2. The newcomer dispensed with the concept’s rear strut brace and retains the standard four-piston Brembo brakes.
One or two new exterior tweaks make this version the flagship line. Body-color bumpers and side skirts are installed, and the side mirrors are painted in gloss black. Available as an option is a matte black stripe on the body or a satin film "Battleship" throughout the body. Additional gold details were applied, including brake calipers.
