The Polestar O₂ has been shown as a concept and will hit the roads in 2026 as the Polestar 6 Electric Performance Roadster. Interested parties in all markets where Polestar already has a presence can pre-reserve a production slot online from August 16, 2022.

Unveiled in Los Angeles in March as the Polestar O₂, the electric concept car builds on the design, technology and sustainability principles of the Polestar Precept and represents Polestar's vision of the sports car of the future. Polestar boss Thomas Ingenlath made it clear at the time that he was keen to turn the breathtaking concept car into reality. And in such a way that you can also afford an electric car.

Thanks to the overwhelming response from customers and the press, we have decided to mass-produce this amazing roadster and I look forward to bringing it to life. The Polestar 6 is the perfect combination of powerful electric performance and windy feel with the top down

Polestar says the electric hardtop convertible is based on Polestar's custom aluminum platform. This in-house developed platform features the powerful 800-volt electrical architecture already proven for the Polestar 5. For an electric convertible, the goal is up to 650 kW (884 hp) and 900 Nm. The car must have a twin-engine transmission and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.

As Ingenlath further explains, 500 numbered copies of the special edition "LA Concept" will initially be released as the "Polestar 6 LA Concept edition". They will exclusively feature a unique Sky Blue exterior, light leather interior and special 21-inch wheels from the original Polestar O₂ concept car.
