It is reported that Tesla Thailand was registered in mid-May with an authorized capital of 3 million baht ($87.5 thousand). The company will be used to supply the company's electric vehicles to the kingdom and sell them. Tesla has also registered in Thailand to sell its solar panels and batteries. At the end of 2020, Thailand announced a package of preferences for manufacturers of electric vehicles. In particular, a partial tax exemption is granted for a period of three to eight years, depending on the type of taxation.

Also in Thailand, duties on the supply of imported electric vehicles were reduced. At the end of 2021, it became known that Thailand will completely abandon the production of cars with internal combustion engines by 2035.

The Thai car market is very large, with over 750,000 vehicles sold in the market last year and expected to grow to 800,000-900,000 this year.

Those production companies of Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Great Wall Motors and Mercedes-Benz are deployed in the country. Now Tesla has decided to come in, but so far only to organize sales. The company may also have to deal with infrastructure issues.
