The ID.5 adds another model to the ID. family in Europe along with the ID.3 and ID.4 models. At the same time, Volkswagen wants to accelerate the offensive on electric vehicles as part of the Accelerate strategy. The electric car should appear in showrooms in early April. The market entry took place at the same time - already in the first week of April. The delivery time from the date of order is four months when entering the market. This is notable given that the ID.4 and ID.3 are actually sold out in 2022 with delivery times of nine months or more. Schaible categorizes this as follows:

Model delivery times are around four months and are currently the shortest delivery times in the ID family. However, given the expected strong demand, it remains to be seen how long this will continue.

Starting March, ID.Stromer will be offered for direct online rental.

According to VW, this is the first fully digital leasing route in Germany. Trade participates in the clearance under the agency agreement and should receive the same commission as when it is concluded in a car dealership. The ID.5 Pro and ID.5 Pro Performance models with 174 hp are available at the start of pre-sales. and 204 hp respectively, as well as the all-wheel drive ID.5 GTX with 299 hp.
