The Volvo XC40 Recharge is one of the most successful all-wheel drive crossovers on the European market. The company decided to take a different drive approach and borrow technology from the Polestar 2. Within a few months, the front-wheel drive XC40 was announced as part of a model update.

Front-wheel drive entry-level model with 170 kW/231 hp. In combination with a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 69 kWh, the range is up to 423 kilometers. The battery can be charged from ten to 80 percent in about half an hour at a fast charging station. This was reflected in the acceleration to 100 km / h - in 7.4 seconds.
The starting price of the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric is 48,850 euros. This is about 4000 euros less than for the all-wheel drive version.
